Community celebrations have always been a powerful way to bring people together. Grita Canta Vota builds on that idea through Fiesta Futbolera: Nuestra Voz, Nuestro Gol, a free event series that combines the excitement of soccer, live music, and cultural celebration with accessible, non-partisan civic resources.
Rather than treating civic engagement as something separate from everyday community life, Grita Canta Vota creates welcoming spaces where Arizona families can gather to enjoy shared experiences while learning more about voter participation and available civic resources.
Guided by its message, "Tu voto, tu voz," the organization helps make civic engagement feel approachable, inclusive, and connected to the communities it serves.
That work continues to be important. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, as cited by the Latino Policy & Politics Institute, Latino voter registration has historically lagged behind the national average despite representing one of the fastest-growing groups of eligible voters in the United States. Helping eligible voters access accurate information and understand the voting process remains an important part of strengthening civic participation.
